The Royal Attire - Episode 7 : 2014

The Pepsi Indian Premier League 2014 had RCB change almost everything about the design language adopted for their jerseys. Reebok continued the kit sponsorship, a new design was made, the tertiary colour blue was dominant on the secondary gold. The sleeves were made completely blue for this season. The gold ratio was reduced. A brighter red was used for the base.

The names and numbers were printed in a different, glittering version of gold. A new array of sponsors became a part of RCB family in 2014. For the first time, a non-Mallya brand was given the belly spot. Huawei became the principal sponsor in 2014. Royal Challenge was advertised on the chest as 'Royal Challenge Sports Drink'. On the back, Kingfisher was advertised as 'Kingfisher Packaged Drinking Water'. For unknown reasons, liquor wasn't advertised on the jerseys. Britannia Biscuits, Tata Motors Bolt and Fortune Constructions were among the associate sponsors who found their place on sleeves.

The 'Game for Green' jersey was better than previous versions, with not many changes, except for a single line 'Huawei' logo on the belly and the names and numbers being printed in blue and outlined in white. Twitter handles continued to be displayed for this season too.

This jersey was better compared to all previous Game for Green jerseys. The shade of green used wasn't too light or too dark, it was just perfect in my opinion.

This was the last season in which Reebok manufactured kits for RCB. The kit sponsor and many other things got changed for next season. Stay tuned to know!
